Dental Veneers

Veneers are restorations that cover the front surface of a tooth. While they can improve function, most of the time veneers are used to improve the appearance of a patient’s smile. Whether a tooth is misshapen, chipped, discolored, or rotated. Veneers can be made of porcelain or ceramic material and are a great solution to improve teeth while being conservative on removal of natural tooth structure.

Dental Crowns

When tooth structure is compromised, a dental crown rebuilds the tooth to optimal shape and function. To begin, the compromised tooth structure is removed, and the tooth is prepared to make room for the crown. Crowns are usually made of ceramic but can also be made of gold or composite material.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected. Inflammation or infection can have a variety of causes: deep decay repeated dental procedures on the tooth or a crack or chip in the tooth. In addition, an injury to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess. A root canal is performed when the dentist removes the infected pulp and nerve in the root of the tooth, cleans and shapes the inside of the root canal, then fills and seals the space. Afterward, your dentist will usually place a crown on the tooth to protect and restore it to its original function.

Dental Implants

Dental implant surgery is a procedure that replaces tooth roots with metal, screwlike posts and replaces damaged or missing teeth with artificial teeth that look and function much like real ones. Dental implant surgery can offer a welcome alternative to dentures or bridgework that doesn't fit well and can offer an option when a lack of natural teeth roots doesn't allow building denture or bridgework tooth replacements.

How dental implant surgery is performed depends on the type of implant and the condition of your jawbone. Dental implant surgery may involve several procedures. The major benefit of implants is solid support for your new teeth — a process that requires the bone to heal tightly around the implant. Because this bone healing requires time, the process can take many months.

Sleep Apnea Treatment

A sleep appliance is a device that is worn in the mouth overnight that is designed to position the lower jaw slightly forward, thereby bringing the tongue forward and expanding the throat in a way that keeps your airway open to facilitate unobstructed breathing while you are asleep. Symptoms of sleep apnea include excessive daytime sleepiness, depression, high blood pressure, and nighttime teeth grinding.
